Support SwimSignal
SwimSignal is free, with no adverts and no accounts. If it has helped you decide where or when to swim, you can leave a one-off tip.
What tips pay for
SwimSignal is run by one person, Ethan Buckley. Today it costs little to run: the domain name, and services that are free at its current size. As more people use it, it will need paid plans for the rainfall forecasts and the map images, and a server to forecast any point on the map. Tips go towards those costs.
What a tip does not do
A tip does not change any forecast, level or score, or which spots are covered. It buys nothing extra: every part of SwimSignal is free to everyone.
Leave a tip
Tips are taken on Ko-fi, a separate website, and paid through Stripe or PayPal. Ko-fi passes on your name, your email address and any message you write. The privacy notice says how they are used.
Other ways to help
- Say when a forecast was right or wrong, or which spot is missing, on the feedback form.
- Add what you know about a spot to its practical guide: where to park, the way down, where to get in. The link is on the spot's page.
- Take part in the winter test.
- Tell a swimmer, a club or an event organiser about it.
